According to a survey by Carwow, the five least expensive places are:
In contrast, the most expensive city is Manchester at £2,275, while the rest of the top five are all in the West Midlands – Dudley, Walsall, Coventry and Birmingham. The national average figure is estimated by Carwow to be £1,944.31 and includes fuel, insurance and maintenance.

It has also emerged that Scottish drivers are the most cautious behind the wheel. A poll of 2,000 motorists by Vantage Leasing found that drivers in Wales have picked up more speeding tickets than anyone else in the country (45%) and Scottish drivers the least.
